A Hike for the Hoodlums

Well I think I have my computer working now. I think you should be able to type in what you want, regaurdless if you make sense or not example:" I need to post the picture of kezia, even though I imported them to some unknown place on the computer. I realize now that I should have paid more attention.. but I didn't so just find it!!!!"
Not that that hasn't happened or anything, but just incase.
Also if an essential cord happens to go missing for waht ever reason, and you can't connect your camera to the computer. it should be voice trained. for instance, I could say " Camera Cord" and it would react with a beeping(of course more intensly as I get closer) and lights, just so I don't miss it. Maybe I should work for mirosoft, forget this useless Vista proproganda, give the people what they need!!!
Okay i feel better.
So we have had a busy week: We met with Elder Hatton on Friday(not this Past friday, but Last Friday), he is from Winnipeg, now serving his Mission in BC, We met him and His companion for dinner Friday night, which was fun. He is doing well, All I can say is he is all grown up. He was in Young Mens when I was Young Women Pres, so that is how I got to know him, as a teen age boy. So it was really nice to see him on his mission.
Then On Sunday Kurt & Julie Socombe came to our ward, again it was so nice to see a familiar face. THey are doing well they have two children, very cute. They live an hour from us, so hopefully we will be able to get together soon.
Then the sadest was Monday was when Our Bishop from Winnipeg came through Vancouver, and we met him for Lunch. It was so good to see him, I was so excited all weekend! I ditched Mahlon at his friends house after school, and with the Help of MADGE(my GPS) I found my way to the airport, although it took me on a very sceinic route.(it is a great thing, but it just doen't understand traffic) I was so sad when we had to say good bye, It really made me Winipeg Sick(A good thing). SO, just so you all know I do miss all my friends. not the cold weather, and I am very grateful to be out here. I wish I could just transplant my life there out here. But things here are finally getting in order. Although it does mostly feel like a vacation still.
Then Monday Afternoon I had my Ultra sound, And I DID NOT FIND OUT THE GENDER. I need to have something to work for when it comes time. But the exciting thing is they have a 3D ultra sound so you can see the face, and hands and feet real detail. not that crazy ultra sound of the ancient times. So I brought home pictures of the baby, and that seemed to be the turning point for Aphra, she was worried that this baby was going to drive her crazy, but Now she is so excited. Even after she declared it to be a boy. as did everyone else, so they are all eagarly awaiting the baby's arrival!!! As Mahlon says "we are so Lucky to have 5 Kids!!!" I think he is right!
This past weekend Dale and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary, Hard to believe. I can still remember my wedding day. for a long time I thought that 12 years was along time, but now it just seems like the beginning, and really it is. We went out for dinner, and enjoyed the time away from the kids, although I stole him the night before and he took me to Tim Hortons, which I also really enjoyed. And our babysitter(AKA Aphra) didn't interupt our dinner Friday night once, which is a miracle. Probibly because I told her that for every hour I spent cleaning up when I got home i was charging her $2.50. That worked well.
Then Saturday we took the Kids on a hike to golden ears mountain. It is right behind our house. We went on this trail that follows a river, that is really swollen right now, and it empties into a lake up in the mountains, it is really pretty. Unfortuanatly it was raining and we were in the clouds, but after all their belly aching and resistance, they ended up having a good time. They liked trying to skip their rocks more than their Dad could.
This week we are on Spring Break, so It's my week to test my patience. It's not going well. We have a few things Planned, so it should go okay. But really these kids never go to school. But I will be sure to post our adventures this week if nothing else just to prove I haven't hurt them.

I love being able to keep up on the latest news & pictures of your family through this site! I am glad you had a hint of Winnipeg homesickness....I've been thinking you are loving life in B.C. just a tad too much for my taste. Bishop Cormack did mention over the pulpit that he met with y'all at the airport, that you had seen Will Hatton, etc. (And after arriving home he has been brutally ill.) Glad to hear about the Slocombes. Last time I talked with Julie she still had a "bun in the oven", so I never did find out the sex of the bun once it was finished baking. Thanks to your update, I still don't...sigh.... But seriously, I am thrilled your family is doing so well.

Love, Cathy Finken
