This Is Why I Love Dale!!!!

I'm getting pretty close to having this baby.. I'm still pretty thick in denial, but apparently it is coming,

Anyhooo...

I am stressed out about a few things, And Dale is working hard to help me fix them, so I can relax. He's been pretty busy today... me not so much.

He took me to the Grocery Store, So I could buy some non perishable food items. When we moved I tossed, or used, or gave away most of our Food Storage Items, Here is a great Resource if you need it, So i have been slowly building it back up, and By slowly I mean s-l-o-w-l-y. But this week I discovered the Cannery, where you can literally can different Supplies so they last longer, up to 3 years, I should rotate them but that's not going to happen. So I got me some flour, sugar, oats, dry milk... if your into this is very exciting and if not, well I'm crazy for lots of reasons, this may or may not be one.

So Dale was kind enough to help me today with that big chore, why the big hurry?? It's to do with the Frasier River, they are not sure how high it could get, but ultimately in a worse case scenario We could be cut off to anywhere. Due to the little creeks, and low roads. So we will now survive!!!! Mostly on pasta, beans, and dried fruit, and if I have to Skim Milk Powder.

Then I am worried about where Everyone is going to fit over the next Month plus. I have Shelby coming (1 week 2 days!!) and then Grandma Taylor is going to come help in June. And then some Baby is coming as well. We have been putting off building Aphra a room in the basement, but Dale Decided today that he is just going to do it, Yeahhh!!!! Ultimately it's just not working bunking with her Baby Sister, So he is busy working on moving stuff, getting supplies, etc...

But that is only after he fixed the pantry shelves(they needed a center Brace as they were sagging in the middle , except for the one that completely collapsed!) , and Put in a new Deadbolt lock. Which sadly is the highlight. Now we are living in the BIG CITY I have to lock the door,(probably my biggest pet peeve) but I have kids who are always coming and going, And they are soooo annoying if they have to wait for any period of time between getting out of the car and getting in the house. And I am pretty sure that hiding a key outside for them wouldn't stay hidden for very long. So Dale bought a key less Entry.

You have to enter a code on the Kay pad, and Presto.. your in!!! But that of course was a little more detailed than removing the old one and replacing it. he had to make the hole bigger, but the door isn't wood, it's steel. Then when he finally got it in, he had to program it! Anyhow he has it working now, I just wonder how long it will be before Mahlon tells the Neighbourhood the code.

So I'm just so thankful for Dale today, He is helping me knock stuff of my to do list! But don't worry I'll go back to my grumpy pregnant self tomorrow, but at least he can have this to look back on!!!

You'll have to tell me how you like that...I've always been curious how it is.

I love the picture of Dale studying the lock. Its such a man thing to do, we girls would just do and then call for our husbands to come fix what ever goes wrong....if we make a mistake and if we don't we're so proud of our accomplishments. Here's to getting Aphra's room done before the baby comes way to go dad..........

Gary promised to have the upstairs done by the time baby Gray arrived but we extended that by 6 months. At least we got Liv and Holden out of our room before the baby arrived.

I am so glad that you are marking things off your list and feeling more prepared for the baby. Korby

I have always wanted one of the keyless locks for our doors, maybe I can convince Craig someday. And I am sure pulling for you to get that room done for Aphra, I hope it all goes very smoothly! We are still trying to get our house in order, and we have the kitchen, a bedroom, and a few touch-ups left until we are ready to try and get this house listed to sell. I am also going to give away a TON of clothes and stuff. I was contemplating a garage sale, but frankly I don't have the time and energy to pull it off, so some lucky person will be able to get it at the D.I. instead. -Heather
