Snow is so 2008...

We are off an all time record amount of snow by 2cm. When they planned the Lower Mainland, they didn't plan for 2+ million people, and they also didn't plan for any amount of prolonged snow. Horible infrastructre, and zero snow removal planning creates Chaos. Now that we have peaked at our coldest -11 Celsius with Windchill, and yes not even my mom who was sitting in -36 couldn't even muster up any faked sincerity when I was complaining how cold I was. "I was outside and the wind was just blowing through my sweater, it was freezing!!" See you can't do it either...


Anyhow, now that we have all this snow, it's warming up and starting to melt. So I got out there today and did some shoveling, When the snow comes down it is beautiful, all light and airy. Not so much when it melts. It is like shoveling a Slurpee, but not nearly as delicious looking.


Anyway, I am done with the snow. They don't have the budget here for proper snow removal, and never mind no one knows how to drive in it. The main roads are pretty well cleared, it's just all the side streets that have on single lane of slushy ruts to drive in. We are lucky my SUV is 4X4 and Dales car is AWD so we are good to go! So driving through all the slushy ruts isn't much of a problem. I sure wish I had 4X4 in Manitoba.

I have taken a few pictures around town here, but they won't mean much to anyone, but keep in mind everything here is usually lush and very green, and in Victoria, plants are starting to bloom. It's not California by any stretch of the imagination. But around here they haven't seen this much snow, and have it stick around in 40years.

Snow Piled at the McDonald's... Not sure if I have mentioned this or not, but since having two baby girls in Car seats Drive thrus are My Favorite Things.

I shovelled the Walk & I cleared the ice from the Curb.. I am Awesome!!!
