We are back from a week on the Oregon Coast, we went minus Aphra, we dropped her off at Especially For Youth (a week long Youth Conference)in Tacoma, Washington and the rest of us disappeared from civilization.
We got home late last night, and there are piles of laundry, stacks of food, and various other things that require my attention, but I am here blogging with my "Franz Goober"(I'll explain later) updating my ipod, and downloading my pictures.... life is good.
I learned a few things this week, the biggie is that Tirzah is an animal. I am so happy to be at home where she can run wild. And there is a running list of things she has broken! I am also happy to have Hot water on demand, and no middle of the night treks down a long dark path to the potty.
Aphra had a great experience at EFY and made tons of friends. It was decided before she went that if she didn't make any friends and/or didn't have the best time of her life(she went by herself, and only knew one other person there!), that there is something wrong with her, and she would have to find a new place to live. But her mission was accomplished and her only worry after picking her up was eating enough food to make room for her and her stuff for the way home. double mission accomplished.
We love Oregon. It is one of the benefits of living out here on the coast! that we are so close. I LOVE the West Coast!
And for all of you questioning my sanity of 5 children and a tent... its all good. Dale & I toyed with the prospect of pulling a trailer, but to either buy one (storage becomes the issue, unless Dales buys us a new home, with space for RV storage...) or rent one, still a hastle, We really like the Tent. Throw it in the trunk and a way we go! The kids love sleeping in it at night, and for one week out of our lives it is an adventure. We are building Memories!!! And as we lay at night listening to the waves hit the beach, it truely is pure heaven!!!

You make it sound sound so amazing to sleep on the ground with bugs but I LOVE YOUR sense of whats a week for the memories your building..... I think I need to learn from the pro and try this out. Really everything is for what we're building with our kids. It does sound wonderful.
I still don't think I could do the tent with all of my kids. But I love hearing about all of your fun!!! Great pics too, and of course your kids are beyond adorable!!!
