Skiing Friday, Spring the Next!

Okay maybe not spring...

WARNING.... If you are living in a place where is -20C or colder you may just want stop reading, I don't mean to go on and on about the weather but I can't stop!!!!I come from the praires: weather & gas prices- its just in my blood!!!

But today the Sun Broke through and it was warm, 11C degrees warm. The Van said 17C degrees but I am not taking that as reliable! We spent most of the day outside, Dale put up our Big Lawn swing, which was bitter sweet, As I remember all of the Fire Pits we had in the back Yard with our friends, and today I swung alone... boo hoo. We also realized we have a very wet back Yard, and we are going to have to fix it some how. The back area againt the fence doen't seem to dry out, so Dale put down some stones, so as the kids go through the gate in to the park, they won't get muddy, hopefully cutting back on some serious laundry. It was nice to get outside and organize the back yard a bit, and plan out what we would like to do with it, it's just hard to accept that we went from a very private lot, almost an acre, to HELLO NEIGHBOURS!!!

Dale played hooky from work yesterday and took the kids skiing, They went to Mount Seymour, which is about an hour from our house. It was Raining and they came home soaked. But at one point they clouds broke and you could get a good view of the city!! When we were in Saskatoon we bought Corbin a snowboard, which he was all excited about until he realized it was more difficult than he thought, and as Mahlon was getting along so well on his ski's, Corbin was very frustrated and wanted to ski too. But after a big incident at the Hill, which involved a phone call home to come get a "Fussy" Corbin, And after Dale realized who he was asking to drive( I'm NOT driving). He rented Corbin Ski's and wouldn't you know it, in no time Corbin was well on his way... He loved it!! He was riding the Chair lift, zipping down the Hill! and didn't want to leave when it was time to go(A Big change from the last time!). So now Dale has two little Shadows on the Hill following him around!!! Aphra is still Snowboarding, and Loving it!! We just need Shelby to come out here and teach her some tricks!!!

From the expressions on the kids' faces, you can tell the agony they are experiencing & the trauma the move has had upon them.....

Of course they loved it...nothing better then sking in the rain. It was so cloudy that day you couldnt see more then 10 feet infront of you at times and when I was riding the chair with Corbin he said "it's just like taking the chair lift to heaven". That was funny, i almost fell off the chair.
