Good ole' Saskatchewan Weather

-My Dad & Me- It was soooo cold to stop for this Picture!

-The Tempurature with out the windchill

-The view from the Car, freezing cold!!

I was so worried about heading home. I haven't had to deal with any serious freezing weather, I remember what sub zero degree weather is, and I didn't want to experience it. As we traveled to Regina and while we were in Regina the Weather was Beautiful. it was cold, but nice. Then as we drove back to Saskatoon we drove into a storm and the temperature dropped to -30. Ummm it was cold. On Monday Mom & I went out to drive some errands. And then later that night we went out for dinner. It was cold. I now remember what it feels like to have your thighs freeze. I am a wussy.

Then as we left Saskatoon Tuesday Morning, they announced that it was -50 Celcius. Yeah that's right -50. It hurts. your jacket freezes, the snow crunches under your feet, and it just takes moments for your skin to freeze. not fun.

When I arrived back in BC, it had snowed during the night and there was a lot of snow. They were expected to get 15cm. Snow and inexperienced drivers don't mix. Everything is shut down, they cancelled Aphra's Young Women's New Beginnings Program, and Corbins Swim lessons. We are on our second Snow Day today. I am so being punished for my mini Holiday.

The funniest thing: Yesterday on my way home, on the radio they were proclaiming the -5 degree temperature was bitterly cold. It's hard to take them seriously out here.

I am with you on the cold thing. I moved back to Alberta to get away from that crazy cold weather and yes we hit the -49 monday morning too!!! Our pipes even froze and we had no water! So stinkin cold!!! My kids stayed home from school that day but by the next morning when it was only -45, I bundled them all up and drove them to school. It realy was more for their safty than anything else. If they had stayed home I may have seriously hurt them!!! We are hoping for warmer weather sooooon!

I will now shutup about our -12 degree mornings. I cannot even fathom being THAT COLD!!! Glad you arrived there and back home again safely, and I do not envy that cold of a trip, wow!
I do miss seeing everyone though, Craig and I seriously need to get ourselves in gear and make our way up there. Just not in the middle of winter...

Thanks for the warning. I will NEVER visit during the winter.
