On our way home we decided to Stay overnight at Mount St Helens. There is a camp ground just across from the Visitors Centre(5min off the interstate), which also happens to be a good hour from the mountain. We didn't drive to the Johnson Observatory(it was 49miles further), again that would be a Dale & Anne thing.
But we enjoyed our Last night. We basically had the campground to ourselves, and enjoyed the warm weather that was waiting for us 15 min off the coast. One day that will seem funny.
But we set up camp, and slept with the Fly off the tent, so we could watch the stars. Which is another thing I miss from living in Manitoba. It was nice.
I really enjoyed the Visitors Centre and hearing about the events leading up to the rupture of Mt Saint Helen's. It's good to know the Warning signs, since we live with in 100K(60M) of Mt Baker. no really.

And she is no longer afraid of the hand dryer.
I'd show Aphie & Kezia, but Aphie would kill me.
The other Great thing: HOT CHOCOLATE!!!!
I had to hide her under towels so she wouldn't suffocate from the Sand.

Beautiful Pictures Annie. Looks like a great time. I really wish we had been there to expereince it all with you.
Please tell me that you and not Aphie cooking beside Dale. She looks so grown up. And once again I would like to lament the fact that you took her away just as she hit babysitting age. Think of all the fun we could have had.
I wish that was me!! It's aphie. Scary huh?
Yeah well when we are at your house, we can dump her with ALL the kids, and out we go! So make sure you find us a good place for us to go out!!
Oh yeah and a reminder... she fills that body with 12 year old attitude.
It looks so peaceful and beautiful, Do you guys do alot of camping? It looks like you have it done to a fine art. With no screen tents to eat in does that mean there are no bugs?
You got it baby, NO BUGS!!! Accept for one morning when the breeze died down we had some no see 'em bugs bitting, but that was it.
Ang, yes i did do all the cooking. Which lent to my mental state later in the week. We need you next time to make some fancy salads and dinners that can pamper us. I sure do miss you dinners Ang.
Tricia- That was my first time camping with a tent in a long time. Roughing it before this week was no cable. We were serious rookies, but my motto is: whatever I forgot.. I can buy. We did a lot of buying.
And there were no bugs, we don't have a lot of bugs here either though... except wasps that look like small birds. but after the mosquitoes of Manitoba & Saskatchewan, I'm fine with them!
