Easter is starting to feel a lot like Christmas, it just keeps going & going.... Today seems to be day 4. Today we made Pysanky, or Ukrainian Easter Eggs. The kids love to make them although the burning candles and dripping wax seem to stress me out. So if they could get rid of me, they would probably enjoy their experience a lot more. Once they re-acquainted themselves with the kistky (the tool used to draw with the wax) and figure out which dyes to use, away they went! and 90 frenzied minutes later, voila! I love the excitement in their eyes as we melt the wax away and their creation is revealed! Aphra’s Favorite thing was to re-light the candle after Mahlon blew it out, a very vicious cycle. The big concern is not to break the raw egg, but Corbin did manage to pick off the Shell as he was trying to get the Wax off. But no harm was done! No mess was made! And we have now packed up our supplies until next Year! Thank Goodness!! Now if they could just eat all their Chocolate!

Looks like so much fun; we are going to have to find a way to add this into our TnC easter party. 10 kids and candles, really what could be better?
I can't wait to see all the kids with fire and wax should be quite the experience. The eggs do look quite beautiful.
