Sisterly Slave Labor

Hard to believe my little sister is graduating from Grade 12 this year. Not too long ago we went to McDonalds in my orange VWrabbit cranking the stereo. I thought that was my sisterly duty, boy was I was wrong. Over spring break we spent some time shopping for her Grad dress. And we didn't find much other than poofy, sometimes skanky, and yet way overpriced dresses. We then turned to the internet, which really is the way to shop, you just Google...and poof! Dress heaven is just a click away! And out of thousands of dresses there was one which met our requirements, not too poofy, and it some sort of sleeve. As a side note, it was very discouraging, and as you you hit dress #9999 you think who really needs sleaves anyway?? Anyway, We debated ordering it, and before Neiman-Marcus could potentialy solve all our attire problems we decided to check out Fabricland. So Shelby and I sorted through 100's of colors and Fabrics.. Shelby still not sure what she wanted.. We decided to purchase a pattern and some fabric which she seemed moderatly happy with, so we could make a dress. And if by chance she found one she liked better she could wear that instead, And I promised I wouldn't be a bit bitter (yeah right.) So for the next few days we(I enlisted my mom the do the tedious pinning of the dress pieces together) slaved away!! And I endured all of Shelby’s “I’m not really to sure about this” looks. Although she was a good sport, even when I showed up at her Work at Superstore, and dragged her into the change room for a fitting! When all was said and done she was pleased and so was Mom & Dad because as others were spending hundreds of dollars on their Grad dress, our little spendthrift spent $35 our creation. And as Shelby put it best” more to spend on Snowboarding!!”
