Samantha moved away about 3 years ago, back to Zion, or as the rest of the world knows it, Salt Lake City, although you may confuse it wil Southern Alberta. Her Husband Steven has business here and the whole family came. Her three boys Taylor, 8yrs. Matthew 5 yrs, and Caden 3 years.
They were here Thursday May 25- Monday 29.
First, we had no sleep. I’m not talking a few late nights. I mean NO sleep. The first night she was in town, I think I crawled into bed at about 1:30. Little did I know that that was going to be the earliest. (One morning it was 3 am when I got home, no kidding) I am still trying to recover.
Friday, Steven invited us on his Train. Steven’s company owns a short Line rail road in southern Manitoba. And Friday Morning all of Mahlon’s dreams came true. He Rode on a Train! I will post pictures when I get them from Angela, She was the Photographer, and I was the videoer (I know that’s not a real word, get over it).
We then Hung out at my house, while the kids had a huge Water Balloon Fight. It was so much fun! Dale & I then went to INXS, see previous post, and I ruined all of the Van Wagenen/ Court Fun by leaving them with Krazy Kezzie. Do you really think I wanted them to have any fun with out me? Not a chance.
Saturday Afternoon we went bowling with the Barfuss Family & the Northcotts& Van Wagenen & the Courts . The kids had a blast. And Spencer was the High Scorer, due to his final frame with a strike and spare (See if you can figure out who the bitter second place player is?)
But we should also mention that Angela is a turkey, not just because, but rather she scored 3 strikes in a row! Way to go!!!
We had big plans to go out that night, but all the Girls ended up at a movie.
Sunday, after a very exhausting (it had absolutely nothing to do with being out the night before) day at Church, we were able to relax and have a great time at the Barfuss’. Vicki Hosted a great meal and the kids were able to enjoy their last night together.
I should mention, Dale misses Steven, and the Boys hung out (with the kids, mind you) and spent some quality time together at the pool.
We well over stayed our Welcome at Darren’s, and I was pretty much a babbling idiot the whole night (I will delete any comment on this particular topic). After Dinner, Samantha and Angela (She left early, bedtime & responsable parent) decided to drive me home, but for some reason when we picked Angela up we ended up watching her Wedding Video. Oh My Goodness!!!! It was the Best! I loved it. It is so scary to realize that your best friend had a life before you. Because not much goes on that either one of us doesn’t know. Although that Ang can be full of secrets, the fun stuff is to get it out of her. Just kidding. No secrets with her. .. I wish I would have known Angela & Spencer back then, it was just fun to see their “Special LOVE” day.
Then all the Girls piled into the Big Bad Suburban, and we all drove me home. This was fun, as that does not happen often.
And surprise, surprise, after maybe a few hours of sleep we met again at Vicki’s for breakfast, which was nice as we usually met at the Pancake House, but the thought of all those children running around, So nice of Vicki. And Again Vicki cooked. And we ate. yummy yummy.
Then we said our good byes and yes Anne cried...
I had a great Weekend, Sam was one of my first friends when we moved here, and when we get together or get on the phone, it’s like we don’t skip a beat. But I don’t know if I have the stamina to survive if she still lived here.
