UMMMM... I Don't Know that Kid

Note: I do not encourage or endorse the following behavior.

We are down to our last 2 weeks of soccer, and for the first month I couldn’t get him to play; he mostly tried to hang out with me. And last week Dale was so fed up with his Fussyness he just brought him home. Then the other day we were talking about the Wind up and told him if he didn’t play he couldn’t go to the “Party”. We have now unleashed a soccer monster. He has gone from NOT wanting to play to being this ULTA-Competitive, psycho soccer player. Seriously. At one point he was goalie, and was doing an awesome job stopping the ball. Then they changed goalies, so all the kids would get a chance. Well every time the other team scored on his team he would throw his hands in the air, and get upset, and come tell me they are going to lose. I have no idea who that kid is. Then the worst of it was he would taunt the other team. As you can see in the video(yellow shirt, red pants), but what you can’t hear him saying is”We’re going to beat you”. So now I wish he didn’t want to go play anymore, but no such luck, He can’t wait until next week. I think we have woken a sleeping giant, and I am afraid of where he is going to go next...

This is all too familiar. We put Halston 4 & Taft 3 in Soccer. We had to drag them up and down the field it was exhausting. We already paid and didnt want to just throw the money away. Scott decided that we needed to teach them to stick with it despite their desire to sit and watch. It was weeks of forcing them to play the last week Halston played for a few minutes at a time without holding one of our hands. We are proud of the progress. Taft we gave up on he is little probably the smallest kid in soccer. I loved the story kids are so funny.
