my Love/Hate relationship is now leaning towards Hate.

The scales have tipped. The Park has thrown me over the edge.

I have endured many things with the Park. But over the past few months, there has been a group of dog owners that bring their dogs to the park, let them off the leash, and while they visit together, their Dogs run around the park. There can be anywhere from 3-9 dogs at one time. It's not a big park.

Now, I find it disgusting enough that people bring their dogs down to the Park so they can use it for a doggie bathroom. Most of them do clean it up, but It is still gross. Kids play in the park. And there are a few Doggie Bombs left behind.

So Mahlon & his buddies had left some stuff in the Back alley that needed to get cleaned up. But Mahlon was to scared to leave the Backyard, because of the Dogs.

Dale: Hey, can you guys Leash your dogs, please. My son is scared of Dogs.

Guy: Well, maybe your son should get used to dogs.

Dale: The kids can't play when there are 6 dogs running around the park.

Guy:There aren't any kids around.

Dale: Is this an off Leash Park?(which it isn't, and after a quick call to the district, they need to be on their Leash)

Guy: It's never been an issue before.

Girl: I guess it's going to be an issue now.

Dale: Is this an off leash park?

Guy: Saying something...

And Dale just came back inside.

I have no big fight to report on, But that was as big a confrontation as I can deal with. If you know me I hate confrontation, and will avoid it at ALL COSTS.

And no one has slung dog poop at our house, yet.

but When I met Dale, he was so shy, and now he out there getting the park in order.

Anyway I am not sure if thats the end of it, My guess is that they will be back tonight at 7pm, they have probably rallied all their friends, so it will probably be a Mini-Dog Rally. And we'll all watch from from our window.

Now you've done it, you have crossed the neighborhood line of possibly no return! Can't your kids just play on the streets? or stay at home when the dogs are running in the park. Besides, I have not heard of anyone getting hurt from a doggy bomb in the park. YOU ARE OUT NUMBERED, DOGGY HATER! If any one of those parents of those poor sweet little adorable puppies have a compulsive disorder YOU WILL BE BRANDED in the neighborhood F-O-R-E-V-E-R. Could'nt Dale have found maybe some homeless people to pick on instead of parents of dogs?
Apoligize immediatly, maybe a cash settlement, doggy treats some balls....anything...before its too late!

Way to go Dale!!!! Go get'em! And don't let anonymous bully you!!lol One time we went to the park here and all of a sudden out of nowhere this giant horse(off his leash of course!!)came bounding as fast as he could at us. The kids were all screaming and I just about wet myself. And the whole time his owner is yelling "It's ok she's friendly!!" Ya right she's friendly!!!! She could bit my head off just for a snack! and who buys a dog the size of a horse anyways!!!Good luck with the park and all those awful dog lovers!

I am a firm believer in "your dog, your own yard". So if they all feel so strongly about letting their dogs run free, they need to get together and take turns letting their dogs run around and poop in each others yards, and not the park. Kids before canines in my opinion....but I know some people that think their dogs ARE their kids...And I am not one of those people. I'm pretty sure I didn't gestate a furry baby.

Don't get me wrong, I love Dogs. And would love to get one for the kids. I have had a dog for most of my life and Anne and I did have a dog before the Aphra was born. Which we gave to my brother because of my feeling if how unfair it is to have a dog in a small surrounding. And Anne really could not stomach the smell of a dog when she was pregnant.

Now the park issue is beyond resonalble. Sure i have no problem if you take your dog and let it off the leash at a big park if know one is arround. But come one people if the park is the size of a maple ridge house lot, there is not enough room for 7 to 9 large dogs to run arround. Terrorizing the kids in the park so they dont feel welcome or they will get knocked down or licked to death.

Besides the larger point is there is a bylaw that states all dogs are to be on a leash or the result is $100 fine. I could say something and save them $100 or call the city. I think i did them all a favour and spoke for all those that feel the same as we do.

If you want a dog and truley love it, don't torture the poor animal by living in a surrounding that is too small for it. Then say because of my decision the rest of you will just have to deal with my choice to let my dog off my leash.

Larita- too funny, in a scary kinda way. People with scary dogs always say, they are friendly. I'm too busy running to find out!

-I sense some strong feelings Dale. It's a good thing you weren't here last night at 7pm on the dot, as Corbin & Mahlon came rushing in the house, as the Dogs were let lose in the park.
